I offer initial and follow up private eye consultations for a variety of ocular conditions. A dilated eye examination is recommended but may not always be necessary when determining any underlying diagnosis. As a result of any dilating drops that may be used I would not advise driving for 3-4 hours after your appointment. You may wish to bring someone with you to the consultation.

 With access to modern eye equipment, additional tests such as retinal imaging and OCT  are available if needed to help investigate and monitor eye conditions.

Cataract is cloudiness of the natural lens inside the eye and a common cause of treatable poor sight. I offer private cataract surgery (phacoemulsification) and artificial lens implantation.

The majority of patients are suitable for topical anaesthetic  (drops rather an injection to numb the eye).

The operation is usually done as a day case procedure, meaning you will be able to leave the hospital on the same day.

Surgery is available via self pay or in association with medical insurance companies.
